Terrence Mashego joined Mamelodi Sundowns at the beginning of the previous season. His playing time was limited though because of injuries.

When he joined The Brazilians, he was one of the best left backs in the PSL. Mashego was also a regular starter for Bafana Bafana.

His arrival at the club signalled the departure of former PSL Defender of the Season Lyle Lakay. He was expected to tear up the PSL for Masandawana.

However, after making his debut against AmaZulu FC after his transfer, his playing time was limited because of fitness issues.

“It was a challenging season for me because throughout the season I only played about five games and if I were to include the CAF Champions League it would be seven games,” Mashego relayed to the club website.

“This has never happened before. Since I started my football career in the first division I’ve been playing consistently.

“Playing about thirty games in a season and that’s why for me it was a difficult season. I am used to scoring goals and getting assists.

“But then this season I don’t have a goal or an assist.” He added.

Mashego spoke about his debut in September.

“In my first game for Sundowns against AmaZulu I got injured and I had to go for a groin operation. I was then out for five months, and I came back now in February [2023].” He added.
