Itumeleng Khune has made a return to his social media accounts. Under the command of Kaizer Chiefs, Khune was enforced to step away from social media for a few months.
The legendary goal keeper has endured a tumultuous season, on and off the pitch.
Off the pitch, Khune has been attacked and scrutinised for his age on social media. Many onlookers believe that he is much older than what it seems to be.
On paper, Khune is born in June of 1987. However, many are adamant that this is not true, and that he is older than that.
There have also been many stories of Khune suffering relationship difficulties with his wife, Siphelele Khune. It is believed that the two were separated for a small while, over allegations of adultery from Itu.
Both parties have deemed that story to be untrue, but it must’ve had a toll on the goalkeeper.
In addition to this, Itumeleng Khune lost his sister Meiki Khune to a horrific fire earlier this year. Following the death of his beloved sister, Khune took a break from Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana.
On the pitch, it has been a terrible season at club level. Khune has been extremely below par this campaign, making mistakes that directly lead to goals.
He will also be looking for a positive end to the current campaign. Everyone hopes that Khune’s social media sabbatical will lead to better performances.
