Jele Overcomes Soweto Derby Heart Ache In R750 000 Lexus SUVs

The second instalment of the Soweto Derby in as many week looms large at the FNB Stadium on Saturday but Orlando Pirates captain Jele is set to miss the Soweto Derby clash against Kaizer Chiefs after the lanky defender received a red card in a league match against Maritzburg United last week.

Jele, an ambassador for Japanese automaker Lexus, is however finding comfort by driving around in his customised Lexus NX200 T Sport SUVs.

The blue and white SUVs toys in Jali’s garage are priced around the R750 000 mark each and with the defender out of action, he is making the most of the time on the sidelines to enjoy his fine road drives.

Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) are more popular because people like them because of the four-wheel drive, off-road ability, towing capacity and bigger passenger-carrying space.

They seem to be trendier just like fashion threads amongst South African Premier League players who have high affinity towards them.

Jele (32) has proved to be a vital cog in Bucs’ defence over the years and his absence is most likely to be felt with the marauding Chiefs attack seeking to maintain their pole position in the league that has seen them enjoy a 7 point lead over title rivals Mamelodi Sundowns and 12 points over their traditional arch enemies Pirates.

Pirates coach Rhulani Mokwena will be looking to stop the Chiefs juggernaut but with skipper Jali watching from the stands it will be no mean task.

The Buccaneers for the second week running come up against the newly-coined “CBN” partnership comprising of Leonardo Castro, Khama Billiat and Samir Nurkovic, who have formed a formidable attacking trio in recent weeks destroying everything in their way and propelling Chiefs in the “right” direction perhaps towards their first silverware in 5 seasons.
