José Riveiro Believes They Didn’t Suffer Against Mamelodi Sundowns! The Buccaneers drew with The Brazilians over the weekend.

Orlando Pirates drew 0-0 at home to Mamelodi Sundowns in their MTN 8 first leg semifinal on Saturday afternoon. Head coach José Riveiro believes that they did not struggle in the encounter.

Although the game ended scoreless, it was a very tantalizing affair. It left the fans breathless as everyone eagerly awaits the second leg.

The visitors did not have a single shot on target in the entire match. This proves the Spaniard’s statement that they did not suffer too much.

In fact, Pirates will be disappointed that they did not find the winner. They missed a great opportunity with Zakhele Lepasa 1v1 with Ronwen Williams in the second half.

“Intense, with small or short moments for every team [both teams], but most of the time during the 90 minutes it was quite equal.” Riveiro told SuperSport TV.

“I think the first half was really really under control. We didn’t suffer so much, or at all, I have to say, to control the situation in our defensive phase.

“And we got enough, also in our attacks to create some problems. We were not very clinical in our transitions in the first half.

“In the second half they started better, or that’s the feeling I have. Mokoena was creating some problems for us to defend, and we became a bit more low in our block.

“But after we corrected our situation, ok there’s always threats with Shalulile behind, and they brought a lot of quality from the bench as well. But overall, I think the game that everybody expected was equal, with Pirates showing that we can also compete in these types of games, and we are serious.” He added.
