Orlando Pirates head coach is desperate to have his upfront players back in full fitness. This is as they still search for their first goal of October.
The Buccaneers have fired blanks in all their matches this month. They drew 0-0 at home to Mamelodi Sundowns, lost 2-0 away to Sekhukhune United and drew 0-0 at home to Richards Bay FC.
This has led to the Spanish coach lamenting the absence of Kermit Erasmus, Evidence Makgopa and Thembinkosi Lorch. He is counting on these players to help remedy their situation up front.
“Evidence is now training with the group since maybe one week ago. So, it’s close, (he is) now getting the rhythm in training with the group,” Riveiro told the media.
“Erasmus had a very small problem in Sekhukhune United’s game in Polokwane, so he was not available for the Richards Bay game.
“Well, he [Thembinkosi Lorch] hasn’t been available for the last one and a half months. I think, after the SuperSport United game.
“I hope he’s going to make it soon. We spoke about what happened in that game already.” He spoke.
He is hoping that these players regain fitness before the 2022 FIFA World Cup, which will put the PSL to a pause. José Riveiro Hoping To Get Strikers Back Fit From Injury!
