José Riveiro Says Orlando Pirates Deserve the Three Points! The Buccaneers got the better of Abafana Bes’thende yesterday.

Orlando Pirates defeated Golden Arrows 2-0 in the DSTV Premiership last night. Head coach José Rivero insists that the better side won the encounter.

Monnapule Saleng scored a first half brace to guide The Buccaneers to victory. The visitors also created many more opportunities, meaning they could have easily added to their tally of goals.

This was their first win since the return of football in October, after the international break.

“Like I mentioned in my pre-match interview, we want to start away the way we usually start at home,” the Spaniard told Phumlani Msibi of SuperSport TV.

“I think today the boys did a fantastic job. The first 25 minutes I think we played beautiful football, with plenty of running, transitions, occasions.

“So, today was enough, we were accurate in the first part of the first half. We could have even gained a bigger advantage before the halftime break.

“Obviously in the second half the opponent, Arrows, must take more risks and accumulate more players up front, so this started a new game. It was a pity that we couldn’t make better transitions in the second half, but overall, I think Pirates did a good job tonight and we really deserve the 3 points.” He stated.
