Josef Zinnbauer Laments Orlando Pirates’ Draw with Stellies! The Buccaneers drew their second game of the new league season. This time, they disappointingly drew at home to Stellenbosch FC.
Orlando Pirates head coach was extremely disappointed with his team’s performance last night. Stellenbosch were resilient as they managed to blunt the Buccaneers’ attack.
Pirates have now only scored 9 goals in the last 13 games. They have conceded 6 goals in that time as well.
They are doing well to prevent goals, but they are also managing to stifle their own attack while doing so.
“I’m not happy with the first half, this was a game that I want to quickly forget. The second half was the performance that we need and what we must see.
“It was a good demonstration, and you can see what happened when we play football that we want.
“A point is more than nothing yes, but it is not enough for me,” the coach told media after the match.
“Sure, we have to find roles for new players in the squad. We have the quality but more important is the conditioning.
“For me It is important that we improve this. A lot of players came to us with injuries and we are working on their conditioning,
Orlando Pirates take on Kaizer Chiefs this weekend in the MTN 8. This is the first of 2 Soweto Derbies as the giants look to claim the MTN 8 crown.
Both teams have started the season indifferently.
