Liverpool drew 1-1 away to Midtlylland in Denmark last night. The game was marred by long stoppages for VAR reviews.

Jurgen Klopp Left Frustrated By VAR as Liverpool Draw! He was one of the people who had initially fought for VAR to be introduced.

He says that all the decisions taken yesterday were right, but feels that they took too long.

Sometimes it was 2 to 3 minutes to come to a decision.

“It just took too long,” he said to the media after the match.

“The decisions were right but it was so difficult to make, it took three or four minutes and it was cold for the boys.

“It is really hard and I could hear people saying, ‘Oh my God’. It took really long and it was really cold, which doesn’t help.

“I used to be one of the people who said VAR is a good idea, I’m really not sure if I would say that again to be honest. But now we have it.”

Andy Robertson was critical of VAR when a penalty was given against him against Brighton. He was judged to have fouled Danny Welbeck.

Mohamed Salah was able to surpass Steven Gerrard to become the club’s all-time leading goal scorer with 22 goals.

“Absolutely exceptional player,” added Klopp. “Since we worked together obviously a lot of things clicked really for all of us.

“He helps the team massively and he knows and appreciates the help of the team as well.”

Liverpool had already secured top spot in the group before they face Midtlylland, so this was an opportunity for Jurgen Klopp to field even younger players than he already had.

Klopp gave a debut to 18 year old Billy Koumetio alongside 19 year old Rhys Williams in defence. Leighton Clarkson was also given a debut from the start in midfield.
