Jurgen Klopp Teams Up With Adidas. The infectious German manager signed with Adidas to join a list of “global icons”. This is despite Liverpool signing a 70M Euro deal with rivals Nike.
Klopp becomes the second manager to be an Adidas brand ambassador after Jose Mourinho. They follow in the steps of Lionel Messi, Mohammed Salah and Paul Pogba, to name a few.
Adidas pounced on the German manager in making him a brand ambassador. “As a new member of the Adidas family, Jurgen Klopp will work alongside not only familiar faces from the pitch but also Adidas teams across the globe,” Adidas said in a recently released statement.
“Whether its areas such as product design and testing through to how Adidas interacts with football communities all over the world, the decorated coach will be providing his insight and input on a range of topics throughout the partnership.”
Adidas CEO, Kasper Rorsted, anointed Klopp ‘The Original One’.
“Jurgen Klopp and the Adidas brand both share an unconditional passion for football and the pursuit of excellence. Yet despite his success, he is always down-to-earth and never loses sight of what is important in life.”
“He is much more than ‘The Normal One’, he is ‘The Original One’. We are very proud of this partnership.”
Jurgen Klopp claims to have always been a big fan of the 3-stripes.
“For me, the Adidas brand embodies a long tradition and deep roots in sport. I am looking forward to the future cooperation,” said a jovial Klopp.
According to the agreement, Klopp cannot wear any Adidas attire during Liverpool games. He will however be a part of brand campaigns going forward.
Liverpool’s 70M deal with Nike is second to only Manchester United with Adidas at 75M. Fans are excited as Jurgen Klopp teams up with Adidas.
