Premier League Fixtures 2020/21 Announced: Chelsea Begin At Brighton Before Hosting Liverpool

The fixtures for the 2020/21 Premier League season have been released and we have all the details of who Chelsea are playing when…

It’s a Monday night start on the South Coast for the Blues as we head to Brighton on the opening weekend of the season in a little over three weeks’ time! That game will take place on Monday 14 September.

Who do Chelsea play in the opening weeks of the season?

Our first home fixture is a mouth-watering clash against the reigning champions Liverpool, scheduled for the weekend of 19 September. We then head to the Hawthorns to take on promoted West Brom before hosting Crystal Palace at the Bridge at the start of October.

When are the big London derbies?

Frank Lampard’s side take on Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham on Saturday 28 November before making the short trip to the Emirates Stadium on Boxing Day to face Arsenal.

We host the Gunners in our penultimate home game of the season, scheduled for midweek in mid-May, and head to Tottenham on 3 February.

When do Chelsea meet Manchester City and host Manchester United?

Our fixtures against Man City are scheduled for 2 January (home) and 8 May (away), while we will travel to Manchester to go up against United on 24 October and host Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side on 27 February.

And what about Chelsea’s Premier League games against Liverpool?

After Liverpool visit the Bridge in our first SW6 game of the season, we then make the trip to Anfield later in the campaign on 20 March.

When do we take on Leeds United?

Our first league encounter with Leeds in 16 years is scheduled for 5 December at Stamford Bridge before we head to Elland Road on 13 March.

What are our Premier League games after the six Champions League group stage matches?

We play Sheffield United, Tottenham and Leeds at home after European fixtures, and also Man United, Burnley and Everton away. The Champions League group games are split evenly with two each in October, November and December.

Who do Chelsea play over Christmas and New Year?

There is the potential for some cracking Christmas encounters as we welcome West Ham to Stamford Bridge on 19 December before travelling to the Emirates Stadium on Boxing Day to take on Arsenal. It’s then a home game against Aston Villa two days later before we welcome Man City to west London on 2 January.

What about our Premier League run-in?

We start the run-in with a tricky trip to West Ham on 24 April before hosting Fulham and then playing our penultimate away game of the season at the Etihad against Man City. Arsenal and Leicester City in the space of four days in the middle of May concludes our home campaign.

Who is our last Premier League game of 2019/20 against?

The curtain comes down on our league campaign away at Aston Villa on Sunday 23 May.

Will supporters be allowed in stadiums?

The 2020/21 season will begin behind closed doors. The Premier League is committed to getting fans back into full stadia as soon as possible, with safety always being the priority.

Changes to fixtures

Supporters are reminded that throughout the campaign there will be alterations to the fixtures. Match dates can change for a variety of reasons, including live TV broadcast selections and to accommodate matches in European and domestic cup competitions. For this reason, Premier League fixtures are always advertised as being subject to change.

Below are the approximate dates for when the announcements on matches that have been selected for live TV broadcast will be made. Changes to September fixtures will be announced as soon as possible. The schedule for later in the season will be confirmed in due course.
