Kaizer Chiefs Goalkeeper Bruce Bvuma: “We Are Improving, Results Will Follow”
Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Bruce Bvuma remains confident that the team is progressing this season, despite a recent slump in form. The Soweto giants have struggled to find consistency, with only one win in their last five matches and a total of four victories from their opening 11 games in the 2024/25 season.
The club has been facing criticism, especially due to their defensive struggles, with just one clean sheet to their name so far. Supporters are understandably concerned about the team’s ambitions, given these underwhelming results. However, Bvuma insists that the team is playing better football than in previous seasons, and believes it’s only a matter of time before the results catch up with the improved performances.
“We are definitely making progress under coach Nabi in terms of how we are playing,” Bvuma told journalists at the club’s training base in Naturena. “You can see that we have improved a lot compared to previous seasons. We are playing well, and as a team, we are doing well. It’s just that the results are not coming our way right now.”
Bvuma acknowledged the inconsistency in the team’s results but emphasized that this does not negate the progress being made. “We are getting inconsistent in terms of getting the results,” he explained. “But that doesn’t mean that there is no progress. I believe there is a lot of progress. We just have to get the results going forward.”
Despite sitting in seventh place on the Betway Premiership table, Chiefs are determined to climb the rankings. The team will look to bounce back from their recent run when they face Stellenbosch FC at FNB Stadium on Wednesday night, with the match set to kick off at 19:30.
While Chiefs’ recent form has raised questions, Bvuma’s belief in the team’s improvement under coach Nabi offers hope for the supporters. With more fine-tuning and continued focus, it seems a matter of time before Kaizer Chiefs can transform their promising performances into consistent victories.
