Kaizer Chiefs Striker Ranga Chivaviro Set for Exit Amid Interest From Top-Flight Club

Kaizer Chiefs striker Ranga Chivaviro is set to part ways with the Soweto giants at the end of the 2024/25 season, with indications that at least one top-flight club is monitoring his situation closely.

Chivaviro signed for Amakhosi ahead of the 2023/24 campaign after an impressive spell with Marumo Gallants, where he netted 18 goals in all competitions. His arrival was met with high expectations, as fans hoped he would bring much-needed firepower to the Chiefs’ frontline.

However, the 32-year-old has found life at Naturena challenging. In 22 appearances this season, Chivaviro has managed just five goals — a far cry from the form he showed during his peak at Gallants. He has not featured since March, and signs point to an imminent exit when his contract expires at the end of June.

Sources close to the situation have revealed that the Siya crew has been made aware of a Premier Soccer League club expressing interest in the veteran forward. While the name of the club remains under wraps, speculation is growing that a reunion with Marumo Gallants is on the cards.

Gallants are understood to be open to bringing Chivaviro back into the fold, especially with reports suggesting that Gabadinho Mhango is expected to leave the club at the end of the season. With a proven track record at Gallants, Chivaviro could be a valuable addition as they look to revamp their attacking options.

Meanwhile, Chiefs are preparing for a significant squad overhaul in the off-season, with the club believed to be actively scouting for a new striker. Chivaviro is likely to be one of the players who will make way as Amakhosi look to rebuild following a challenging campaign.

As the transfer window approaches, all eyes will be on Chivaviro’s next move — whether it’s a return to familiar territory or a new chapter elsewhere in the DStv Premiership.
