Kamohelo Mahlatsi joined Kaizer Chiefs from Swallows FC at the beginning of the new season. However, things have not gone as smooth as he may have wanted before making the switch.
After leaving The Dube Birds for Amakhosi, there was a lot of expectations for the midfielder. He was a pivotal player for Swallows in their tenure in the DSTV Premiership.
However, he has only played a lowly 21 minutes for Arthur Zwane in the league this season. Like many young players at the team, he has also suffered to get game time under Mangethe.
This is surprising because Zwane was a youth coach to a lot of the first team players now.
“We all understand that everyone has to work hard for a place in the team,” a source close to the player told Phakaaathi.
“But when your player is not given a chance, it leaves one wondering what else he has to do to show the coach that he is ready to play for Chiefs. We don’t want a similar situation like Siphelele Ntshangase, who stayed in the team but was not used, then next thing he is washed out.
“We see the same happening in other big teams in the country where players’ careers are killed. We don’t want that with this young man,” the insider revealed.
