Kgaogelo Sekgota has enjoyed an upward trajectory over the past two weeks. He is keen to keep up this momentum and respect the teams which he represents.
Sekgota joined Amakhosi from Swallows FC last season, alongside the likes of Njabulo Ngcobo and Sifiso Hlanti. However, it is only in the current season that he is beginning to make an impact at the club.
He has made two assists so far this campaign and has won two penalties for his team. Today he was called by Hugo Broos to the national team, as reward for his performances.
“Yes, as a person and as a Kaizer Chiefs player I want to contribute results, goals, assists and discipline to respect the badge,” he told the club website in an interview.
“Credit to God and my teammates and the support that I get from the rest of the club. I think it’s all about helping the club getting the results by putting in better performances.
“I’m looking forward to getting a good result against SuperSport. We know that they have been doing well and we’ll put in a shift to fight against them.” He added.
The winger has cited the help and influence of his teammates as extremely vital to his upturn in form.
“Obviously, the encouragement from my teammates and the rest of the technical team helps a lot. I think it is an ingredient that a player needs daily to motivate him to work hard and improve and try his level best to perform well.”
