Khama Billiat Donates R100 000 Goods To Former School
Zimbabwe international and Kaizer Chiefs star midfielder Khama Billiat donated goods worth R100 000 to his former school, Gwinyiro Primary School in the high density suburb of Mufakose in Harare.
The donation came through his recently launched Khama Billiat Foundation whose vision is “to contribute to society by positively impacting on the lives that matter.’’
The consignment of goods donated to the school included soccer and netball kits, cones as well as sanitary pads.
“I was giving back to the school that l went to. I brought some sanitary pads, soccer kits, netball kits. It’s so good to be welcomed in such a way and now we know and we want to do as much as we can to so many lives.’’ said Billiat on the sidelines of the event of his first donation through his foundation.
Billiat currently wholly funds the charity, but indicated that he is on the look out for partners.
“We are trying by all means to get partners who can join us, we have a couple of companies and people willing to help but we thought we had to doit on our own the first time and see how it is,’’ added Billiat.
It shows Billiat has a heart, to help the less fortunate members of society, and he is prepared to make a difference in their lives through a number of initiatives.
Khama was born in the high density suburb of Mufakose at Mufakose Clinic on August 19 in 1990 and started attending Gwinyiro Primary school in 1998 at Grade 2.
Billiat is currently in Zimbabwe where he has joined the Zimbabwe Warriors camp ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Botswana at National Sports Stadium on Friday evening.
Many social media users especially on Twitter were in awe and really appreciated the kind gesture done by Billiat of remembering and going back to his roots, touching the lives there and giving them an early Christmas present.
