Khuliso Mudau Commits to Mamelodi Sundowns Amid Orlando Pirates Speculation

Mamelodi Sundowns fullback Khuliso Mudau has pledged his commitment to the club despite growing speculation linking him with a move to Orlando Pirates. The 30-year-old, whose contract with Sundowns expires in June, is regarded as one of South Africa’s top fullbacks and was part of Bafana Bafana’s squad that reached the Last 16 at the recent AFCON in Morocco.
Rumours of a potential switch to Pirates have circulated widely on social media, fueled by reports of a possible blockbuster move. Mudau, however, has dismissed the speculation, emphasising his focus on Sundowns and his desire to achieve success with the Tshwane giants. “I found out about that… I think one of my friends sent something like that, where they said I’m going to Orlando Pirates, which I don’t even know anything about. I’m focused on Mamelodi Sundowns,” he said.
“I’m 100% here, my heart is here, I want to achieve things with the team, I want to help the team. I don’t know what the talks are about and what they are saying, but I’m here 100%,” Mudau added, reinforcing his commitment amid the swirling transfer speculation.
Mudau played the full 90 minutes as Sundowns were held to a 2-2 draw by Sudanese side Al Hilal in the CAF Champions League at Loftus Versfeld on Friday. His performance reflected his reliability and importance to the team’s defensive structure.
The Brazilians now turn their attention back to the Betway Premiership, preparing to face Sekhukhune United at New Peter Mokaba Stadium on Tuesday evening. Mudau’s presence will be crucial as Sundowns look to maintain their position at the top of the table and build momentum in both domestic and continental competitions.
