Khuliso Mudau Set to Return to Mamelodi Sundowns First Team

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso has expressed confidence that defender Khuliso Mudau will soon return to the squad and compete for a place in the starting line-up. Mudau was recently seen training at Lucas Moripe Stadium following Sundowns’ 3-0 Betway Premiership win over Magesi FC on Sunday.
The experienced fullback has yet to make an appearance this season after missing pre-season due to a reported contractual dispute with club management. Mudau had reportedly sought to leave Chloorkop to pursue opportunities overseas.
Now back in training, Mudau is actively engaged in discussions with the club to resolve any outstanding issues. Cardoso confirmed that the Limpopo-born defender is training well and is expected to rejoin the squad soon.
“He is solving all the issues with the club. He is training fantastically, we are absolutely sure that pretty soon he is gonna be able to help the team,” Cardoso said post-match.
The coach added that Mudau is committed to helping Sundowns and that club officials are handling the situation responsibly to ensure his smooth reintegration. “There were issues, most of them have already been resolved, and so the expectation is that pretty soon he could help,” Cardoso explained.
Sundowns currently top the league table with 14 points from six games. After their win over Magesi, they are set to face Marumo Gallants at Dr. Petrus Molemela Stadium on Wednesday at 19:30, with Mudau expected to soon add depth and experience to the defensive line.
