Khulumani Ndamane’s Sundowns Move Revealed: Why He May Still Play for TS Galaxy This Season

Mamelodi Sundowns have finalised a deal to sign 21-year-old defender Khulumani Ndamane from TS Galaxy, but fresh details show the player could remain on loan at his current club for the 2025/26 season.
Ndamane joined TS Galaxy at the start of the 2024 season from Kaizer Chiefs’ reserve team. In his debut PSL campaign, he made 27 appearances and impressed with his composure and positional discipline. His performances earned him a national team call-up from Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos, leading to his international debut in June.
Sundowns were quick to act. The Chloorkop-based side agreed to pay a transfer fee for the young centre-back. However, TS Galaxy coach Adnan Beganovic confirmed that Ndamane is likely to stay for one more season on loan.
“What I have as all the information that I have is that we will keep him this season. Maybe we will sell him, but probably if that happens, he will still play for us this season,” said Beganovic.
TS Galaxy’s defensive depth has taken a hit following the exits of Samukelo Kabini and Lebone Seema. With few experienced options remaining, keeping Ndamane makes strategic sense. It also benefits the player, who will be in line for more consistent game time. That continuity could help him maintain his place in the national team setup ahead of the 2025 AFCON finals.
Despite a FIFA transfer ban that blocks the club from registering new players, TS Galaxy have signed several free agents and promoted youth talent. New arrivals include Ntandoyenkosi Nkosi, Anslin William, Matome Mmolai, Mzwandile Dlamini, Siyabonga Nguessan, Onke Moletshe, Sedwyn George, and Veluyeke Zulu. The club is also eyeing Xolani Cossa from Kaizer Chiefs’ reserves.
TS Galaxy will start the new season without key names like Keagan Dolly, Dzenan Zajmovic, Kamogelo Sebelebele, Sphiwe Mahlangu, Damir Sovsić, Marks Munyai, Lindokuhle Mbatha, Thamsanqa Masiya, and Jiří Ciupa.
Keeping Ndamane gives them much-needed stability as they rebuild under challenging conditions. For Sundowns, the move ensures they secure a promising talent while allowing him to develop with regular minutes before joining a squad loaded with competition.
