Khune Reveals What He Could Be Doing Without Football
Khune Reveals What He Could Be Doing Without Football! Khune has become one of the greatest local football stars of our generation but it was all just a dream for the North West born one of seven children.
Whilst he lives a great life now, Khune says he had humble beginnings where at some point his family went for a month without groceries because his father had bought him soccer boots.
“Growing up in Ventersdorp where opportunities were limited, I never thought I would get out of that bad situation. At some point at home we had to take a risk where we went for one month without groceries because my dad had to buy me soccer boots,” Khune said.
Khune’s wildest dreams came true and he’s now one of the biggest football stars on the continent. “I grew up supporting Kaizer Chiefs and it has been the only team that I have ever played for. That paid off because here I am playing for one of the biggest soccer teams in Africa and I am also playing for the national team,” he said.
But had it not paid off, here’s what could have been Khune’s reality in his own words. “If I was not playing soccer I would have probably become a gangster or a hobo.”
