Komphela: “Forming A Team Is Like Building A House”
Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela is satisfied with what he is seeing in terms of squad building at Naturena as he sees the players he bought of the season combining well. Amakhosi signed almost ten players during off-season, not all of them will adapt immediately.
However, the likes of Siyanda Xulu, Camaldine Abraw and Edward Manqele have shown strong signs of why Komphela and the club put so much faith in them.
Xulu did not even play when the beat Platinum Stars, while other new faces like Bongani Ndulula and Daniel Cardoso havent played a official match at Chiefs yet.
“Forming a team is like building a house,” Komphela told PSL official website. “It is always nice to see a strong bench.
“We need a strong eleven in the field, seven strong players on the bench and we also need strong players sitting in the stands, who will be pushing the others.”
The former Free State Stars coach is happy with the display he saw in his strikers by Abraw and Manqele.
“We lost the MTN8 final to Ajax Cape Town, but Camaldine Abraw and Edward Manqele showed us something after coming on. They added the bricks needed to further improve the house. We are strengthening the team in different positions.”concluded Komphela.
