Komphela: “It’s Time Chiefs Start Attacking”

The Kaizer Chiefs coach, Steve Komphela has told his players to stop playing nice and start attacking other teams. Chiefs started this new season on the wrong foot. In the MTN8, they managed to beat Maritzburg United 5-3 and managed a draw 1-1 against Bloemfontein Celtic.

“There are areas that we think we are okay. There is good progress in how we rotate the ball, retention, progression is okay and you look at that as inspiration” he said.

“There are also areas where we can improve. We are conceding goals that are totally uncharacteristic of the club. Offensively as well we do create chances but are not clinical but I am optimistic that things will be okay” he added.

Komphela expects a tough challenge against his former team on Saturday.

“It’s going to be difficult match, we know everyone we come across always brings their A-plus game”

“We have seen many teams playing counter-attack and maybe because of our dominance in ball prossession. We expect that and we have to guide against that. We should also try to deal with the situation where we seem generous in conceding goals”
