Kurt Lentjies carries the weight on his shoulders!
When Ernest Midderndorp carried Maritzburg United from relegation zone last season, Kurt Lentjies cried tears sitting on the grandstand in Harry Gwala Stadium. Lentjies who played his heart out last season and still playing with great commitment even this season learnt his lesson. Perhaps the whole club learnt a lesson.
Lentjies is a former Sundowns and Supersport player who is currently captain of Maritzburg United. The Cape Town born attacking midfielder plays with great passion. With Roger De Sa being appointed Maritzburg coach early in January this year, the club has been revived and they are on great form and far away from the relegation heat.
Lentjies leads by example and he carries the weight of the club very well and it fuels him to keep improving his game and inspire fellow teammates. Maritzburg are gearing up for the Nedbank Cup and with De Sa as their coach anything is possible. On the 17th of February Lentjies turns 31 and a great birthday gift will definitely be a win against Supersport United in the league on Saturday the 18th.
