Lebohang Manyama Late Strike Maintains Kaizer Chiefs Advantage
Lebogang Manyama struck an injury-time winner to condemn Golden Arrows to their seventh loss of the season whilst Kaizer Chiefs further strengthened their grip on top spot in the Absa Premiership.
The 1-0 win sees Amakhosi extend their lead to 10 points over second-placed Mamelodi Sundowns (who now have a game in hand), while Abafana Bes’thende dropped to ninth place.
Against the run of play, Chiefs were headed for another disappointing draw after sharing the spoils with struggling Black Leopards last weekend only for Manyama to pounce three minutes into injury time to save Chiefs blushes.
Golden Arrows Zimbabwean forward Knox Mutizwa earning his 100th cap for Arrows, was the usual target of most of the hosts’ attacks but he did very little to offer any bother to Chiefs in a very subdued affair.
