Lehlohonolo Seema has agreed to become the new head coach at Golden Arrows. He takes over from Mandla Ncikazi.
Golden Arrows finished in an outstanding 4th place in the DSTV Premiership last season. Despite this, the club still parted ways with coach Ncikazi.
Seema, Ncikazi’s replacement, has promised to carry on where his predecessor left off.
“Ja, first of all, I’d like to thank the chairlady for the opportunity of allowing me to come and work in the Golden Arrows set up, and especially after the season that they have had,” Seema told the club’s media department.
“I think I must make a special mention to coach Mandla that he has really laid a good foundation, and a good group here. It’s my first day at training, and then you could see the brotherhood that is here, the solidarity that is here, and players that are willing to work hard.
“And I must say coach Mandla did a good job with the technical team that I found here. I did not come with anyone.
“I told the chairlady that I’ll work with everyone that has been there.
“So I’m just becoming part of the group, to come and guide and be part of the technical team that has worked hard with these players here. And ja, coach Mabuti is still here, and then Eduardo is still here, and then Tim is still here.
“And then you still have the supporting staff that is there, and we are looking forward to this season, to the challenge.
“And of course we told the players that look the expectations are high now, let’s see if we can even surpass what we did last season, or at least get there where we are this season, so we will start working hard and we are looking forward for the great season.”
