Lehlohonolo Seema Makes Triumphant Return with Bantu FC After Sekhukhune Exit

While Sekhukhune United endured a weekend to forget, former head coach Lehlohonolo Seema had every reason to celebrate after making an instant impact at Bantu FC in Lesotho. Just over a week after his surprising dismissal from Sekhukhune, Seema has found success in his homeland, guiding Bantu to the 2025 People’s Cup title.

Seema’s Winning Start at Bantu

Bantu FC claimed a hard-fought 1-0 victory over their fierce rivals, Matlama FC, in the final on Sunday, marking Seema’s return to the club’s technical team as an immediate success. His ability to turn the team’s fortunes around so quickly has strengthened his reputation as a capable and adaptable coach, particularly after his impressive tenure with Sekhukhune United.

Before his unexpected departure, Seema had led Sekhukhune to fourth place in the Betway Premiership, making his dismissal all the more surprising. Now, with silverware already secured at Bantu, his impact in Lesotho has been widely praised.

Seema Open to PSL Return

Despite his quick success at Bantu, Seema remains open to a potential return to the Premier Soccer League (PSL) should the right opportunity arise. A source close to the former Orlando Pirates captain and Lesotho international confirmed that while he is enjoying his role at Bantu, he has not ruled out a move back to South Africa.

“The coach is happy to be back home, and he is enjoying helping at his former club. That’s the club he played for before he joined (Bloemfontein) Celtic back in those years prior to playing for Pirates. He is not done in the PSL, but that (Lesotho) is where he is helping for now,” the source revealed.

Sekhukhune’s Struggles Continue

Meanwhile, back in South Africa, Sekhukhune United struggled under their new coach, Eric Tinkler, suffering a 2-1 defeat to Stellenbosch FC at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium. The loss saw them drop to fifth place, trailing Stellenbosch and TS Galaxy by a single point as the battle for a strong league finish intensifies.

What’s Next for Seema?

With Seema proving his worth in Lesotho, his name is likely to remain on the radar for coaching roles in the PSL. For now, he continues to make a mark with Bantu FC, showing that one club’s loss can be another’s gain. Whether or not he returns to South African football in the near future, his coaching credentials are only growing stronger with each success.
