PSG defeated Reims 2-0 in Ligue 1 on Sunday night. Lionel Messi was man marked by Zimbabwean Marshall Munetsi on his debut.
PSG took the lead through a Kylian Mbappe strike in the first half. Munetsi thought he had equalised for the hosts Reims.
However, his headed goal was ruled out after a VAR check for offside. Mbappe then doubled PSG’s lead which is how the game ended.
The former Orlando Pirates defender had a good game, from a personal point of view. He pulled in some very decent statistics.
95% Passing accuracy, 5/5 Long balls, 7/13 ground duels won, 4 tackles, 3 interceptions, and 3 clearances.
PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino was pleased with the debut of Leo Messi.
“It was important to win and to get the clean sheet, it will help build our confidence.” The boss told the media after the game.
“4 games and 12 points is great for the international break. So, yes, I’m really really happy.
“Messi? He’s happy too with the squad and with his teammates.
“He wants to continue working, and I’m sure we’ll be even better.” The coach concluded.
