Lionel Messi is officially a Paris Saint Germain player. This is after he signed a two-year contract with the Parisians, with an option to sign on for a third year.
Messi arrived in a jubilant Paris yesterday, after it was announced that he would not continue with FC Barcelona. He spent 21 years in Spain before his time came to an end.
This is considered as probably the biggest transfer in the history of football.
Lionel Messi will wear the #30 shirt at PSG. This is the number he wore when he made his debut for Barcelona as a teenager at FC Barcelona.
“I am excited to begin a new chapter of my career at Paris Saint-Germain.” Messi told the media at his unveiling.
“Everything about the club matches my football ambitions. I know how talented the squad and the coaching staff are here.
“I am determined to help build something special for the club and the fans, and I am looking forward to stepping out onto the pitch at the Parc des Princes.” He added.
Messi is currently being paraded in Paris to large crowds.
