Liverpool Beat RB Leipzig 2-0 To Gain First-Leg Advantage! The Premier League champions capitalised on two defensive errors to win last night.

After three successive defeats in their domestic league, Liverpool came into the game with low confidence. It promised to be a big night for German side Leipzig as they were primed to pounce on a depleted side.

However, it was Liverpool who completely dominated the game and looked likely to win. They failed to score in the first half.

They made their first half domination count in the second stanza as Mohammed Salah pounced on a loose back pass in the 53^rd minute. 5 minutes later Sadio Mane pounced on a poor attempted clearance to make it 2-0.

The Reds now carry a massive 2 goal away lead into the second leg on the 10^th of March at Anfield.

“We played really well in the second half; created lots of chances, but also made two crazy mistakes that will be punished not just at this level, but at any level. Our finishing was worse.

“We had 3-4 must-score chances. We need to talk about that more than the mistakes. That’s part of the game, but overall I think we played well”
