Liverpool Complete the Signing of Cody Gakpo! The Dutch international has caught the attention of the Premier League giants.

Liverpool have signed Netherlands international Cody Gakpo from PSV for £37 million. He will undergo a medical before being unveiled by The Reds.

The winger has recently returned from a stellar 2022 FIFA World Cup campaign. He scored in all three of the Netherlands’ group matches in Qatar.

Despite being knocked out by eventual winners Argentina, Cody Gakpo had a tournament to remember. 2022 has been a breakthrough year for him, as he has been one of the top goal scorers and assisters in the top 5 leagues.

“PSV and Liverpool FC have reached an agreement on the proposed transfer of Cody Gakpo,” PSV announced in a statement last night.

“The 23-year-old attacker will leave for England imminently where he will be subjected to the necessary formalities ahead of the completion of the transfer. Both clubs are not making any announcements about the transfer fee.

“‘But this is a record transfer for PSV,’ said general manager Marcel Brands.

“The PSV management completed the negotiations on Boxing Day and gave Gakpo permission to travel to England.” The statement read.

It is believed that his international teammate and captain Virgil Van Dijk may have also persuaded Gakpo to join the club, where he has played since 2018.
