Liverpool To Bid Farewell to Legendary Melwood Training Facilities!
Liverpool To Bid Farewell to Legendary Melwood Training Facilities! The club travel to play Manchester City this Sunday. This weekend sees Liverpool train at their Melwood facilities for the very last time.
Liverpool will switch to their new training facilities in Kirkby after the international break. This will see Liverpool end their 61 year stay at Melwood.
“Mixed emotions, really mixed emotions. I am happy about going to Kirkby and very sad about leaving Melwood, to be honest.” Jurgen Klopp told Liverpool.
“So, it’s strange; I didn’t think properly about it so far, but my PA is obviously already moving all my stuff out of my office so I realised step-by-step that the place already looks different.
“I will miss it, but that’s how it should be. Melwood was good, it was important – an important place in my life, so I will miss it.
“But Kirkby will be great.”
Liverpool claim that the Melwood training facilities are quite good, but not at the level of their competitors.
The Kirkby training grounds will be quite state of the art. They will be able to compete with other big European clubs in terms of quality of training facilities.
