Loftus Versfeld Set to Host 2023 Nedbank Cup Final! The tournament will also conclude later this month.
The PSL has announced that the final of the Nedbank Cup will be held at Loftus Versfeld in Hatfield, Pretoria. It will be played on the 27th of May 2023.
Many had expected the final to be played in Durban at the Moses Mabhida Stadium, as this is where most domestic cup final are played. However, the PSL has opted for a change of location.
The semi-finals of the Nedbank Cup are taking place this weekend, with Kaizer Chiefs taking on Orlando Pirates on Saturday [6 May 2023]. Stellenbosch FC faces Sekhukhune United on Sunday [7 May 2023].
“The Loftus Versfeld Stadium has a rich history in South African sports, and we are thrilled to host this season’s Nedbank Cup final at this world class venue.” PSL Acting CEO Mato Madlala spoke.
“The 16th edition of the Nedbank Cup has been filled with lots of entertainment and excitement for football spectators, and we expect much of the same for the remainder of the tournament. We have no doubt that together with our partners Nedbank, we will deliver a successful event on the 27th of May 2023.
“We would also like to thank the Gauteng Provincial Government for coming on board and providing logistical support for the hosting of this final.”
