Sekhukhune United was defeated 2-1 by Orlando Pirates in the DSTV Premiership last night. Head coach Macdonald Makhubedu says that his team will accept defeat.
The away side took the lead through Seth Parusnath against the run of play. They were on the back foot and took a surprise lead on the counter attack.
Orlando Pirates turned the scores around to take the lead within three minutes of their second half goals. Linda Mntambo and Kabelo Dlamini provided the goods for the hosts.
“I will accept mistakes from human beings. I’m not talking about anyone, but I’ll accept that.” Makhubedu said to SuperSport TV after the loss.
“We are at the highest level. Two good teams played, no complaints, but I’ll accept mistakes.
The Babina Noko coach was asked about his tentative approach to the game. The visitors sat back for large parts of the game.
“We respect opponents, [in] our approach, we respect our opponents. We play like this, we respect opponents, and we stick to the game plan.
“When we’re home we’re different. Even today were patient and we caught those several times.
“Unfortunately they got an equaliser. But, I think we did well
“I’m happy for my boys, I’m happy for the performance. I will accept defeat; we played against a good team.
“But I will accept mistakes from human beings. Some people make mistakes not knowing that those mistakes can be big and affect other people.
“But I think we had a good performance, good officiating as well
“I’m happy for everything today. We lost and we lost to a good team, with a good technical team.
“We will take defeat. We will go back to the drawing board and plan for the weekend’s game.”
