Magesi FC Suffer Major Setback in Relegation Battle

Magesi FC have suffered a huge blow in their bid to avoid relegation after one of their key players, Wonderboy Makhubu, was ruled out for the rest of the season due to injury.

The injury comes at a crucial time as Magesi fight to collect points and escape the drop zone. The Limpopo-based side have shown signs of improvement in recent matches, including a crucial 1-0 victory against SuperSport United last Saturday.

Adding to their woes, they will also be without midfielder Edmore Chirambadare for their upcoming league fixture against Kaizer Chiefs at the FNB Stadium. Coach Owen Da Gama confirmed Chirambadare’s absence, revealing that the midfielder suffered a new injury shortly after returning to training.

“Makhubu is a long-term (injury), he is out for the rest of the season,” said Da Gama.

“Chirambadare came back two weeks ago, and in second training, he got a different injury. We hope and are pushing for Chira to be fine soon. We have a big break after the 20th of March, lasting a month, due to other activities. Hopefully, we can get Chira back to help us with his experience.”

Currently, Magesi FC sit in 15th place on the Betway Premiership table with 17 points from 20 games. A victory against Kaizer Chiefs could provide a crucial boost and see them climb a few spots higher as they continue their battle for survival.
