Maghreb de Fès Coach Pablo Franco Martin Praises Orlando Pirates Striker Tshegofatso Mabasa

Maghreb de Fès head coach Pablo Franco Martin has revealed his long-standing admiration for Orlando Pirates striker Tshegofatso Mabasa.
Speaking to the Siya crew, Franco Martin said he has been a fan of the 28-year-old forward for years.
“I was interested in signing him when I was at AmaZulu, and now I am again. I always liked him, and I think he suits perfectly in my playing style, and he could score many goals the way we create chances,” he said.
The Spanish tactician added that while his admiration for Mabasa remains strong, he has no involvement in any transfer talks. “Apart from that, I don’t know anything about negotiations between clubs or with players or about chances to sign him or not,” he stated.
Reports have recently linked Mabasa with a possible move to the Botola Pro League, but his agent, Gary Cassisa, has made it clear that the striker’s commitment lies with the Soweto giants.
“Tshegofatso Mabasa remains committed to Orlando Pirates only. He is closing in on the club’s all-time leading goalscorer record and would like to make history with the Soweto giants,” Cassisa confirmed.
Mabasa’s form has been outstanding, with more than 30 goals scored over the past two seasons. His consistent performances have made him one of the most feared attackers in the Betway Premiership.
While Franco Martin’s public admiration has sparked interest, the Pirates faithful can be assured that Mabasa’s focus is firmly on helping the team. He is expected to play a key role when Pirates face Mamelodi Sundowns in the first leg of the MTN8 semi-final at Orlando Stadium this Saturday.
