Mahlambi And Singh Might Get A Run Against Angola
South Africa under-20 internationals Phakamani Mahlambi and Luther Singh were called up to the senior team by stand-in Bafana Bafana coach Owen Da Gama. They both played a key role in helping the South African Under-20 Men’s National Team (Amajita) qualify for the 2017 Fifa Under-20 World Cup which will be played in South Korea in May.
The two did not feature in the friendly against Guinea-Bissau. But they are itching to play on the next game against Angola. Owen Da Gama mentioned that he will rotate the squad to make sure that most players get a chance to play and prove their worth in cementing a place in the Bafana Bafana staring 11.
Speaking to media Mahlambi said, “I am hoping to get a run because the coach had said there will be a rotation of players and should I get the nod, I will grab the opportunity with both hands and do the best for my country. Obviously I want to test my readiness for the senior team, and I have to thank the technical team for selecting me”. The game kicks off at 7pm CAT.
