Mamelodi Sundowns Endure More Fixture Changes! The Brazilians have received confirmation for their CAF Champions League match.

They were scheduled to play CR Belouizdad on the 23rd of February. However, the fixture was postponed as they were denied entry into Algeria.

CAF, SAFA and Sundowns reached a resolution and set a date of Sunday 28 February 2021. This means that their Nedbank Cup fixture against Polokwane City has been compromised.

“Mamelodi Sundowns have received confirmation from the CAF Organising Committee of Interclub Competition regarding a new date for the TOTAL CAF Champions League fixture against CR Belouizdad of Algeria.” Sundowns said in a statement.

“The match will now take place on Sunday 28 February 2021 at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Kick-off will be at 15h00 CAT.

“The fixture, which was originally scheduled to take place on Tuesday 23 February 2021, was cancelled by the Algerian Football Association due to further medical restrictions in Algeria.

“The Nedbank Cup match against Polokwane City and the DSTV Premiership fixture against Stellenbosch FC have been impacted by the rescheduled CAF CL fixture and the details will be announced in due course.” The statement concluded.

Sundowns Nedbank Cup clash against Polokwane City has been rescheduled for the 10th of March 2021. This date is in two weeks.

Their DSTV Premiership clash against Stellenbosch is rescheduled for a future date. The calamity will be sure to distort the Sundowns players but they will soldier on as they have done in Africa in recent years.
