Makheleni Makhaula has joined Orlando Pirates from AmaZulu, on transfer deadline day. He leaves Usuthu with the blessings of club chairperson Sandile Zungu.
The former Usuthu captained had been reported to have signed a pre-contract with the Soweto Giants to join at the end of the campaign. This is because his contract would be ending.
However, Pirates have opted to sign Skheli immediately and pay Usuthu for his transfer fee.
“Makhaula leaves with our full blessings. He has served the club very well as captain and was the recipient of the President’s and the player’s player of the year awards two seasons ago with merit” Zungu told the club media.
The midfielder has already met up with his new teammates and even began training with them.
“I am so happy to have signed for one of the biggest clubs in the country.” Makhaula told his new club media department.
“It’s a dream come true for me. I am looking forward to meeting up with my new teammates and helping the Club move towards reaching their objectives.
“As I begin a new chapter in my career, I cannot do so without paying homage to my former club. To the entire board, the technical team, my teammates, and the supporters of Usuthu, thank you all for everything you have done for me,” he concluded.
