Mamelodi Sundowns Bid Farewell to Steve Komphela! He will be the new tactician for the Dube Birds.

Steve Komphela was recently announced as the new head coach for Swallows FC. Mamelodi Sundowns have wished him well ahead of his new venture.

Komphela arrived at Mamelodi Sundowns in 2020, after he was lured away from Golden Arrows. He was the assistant coach to co-coaches Manqoba Mngqithi and Rulani Mokwena, after Pitso Mosimane departed for Al Ahly in Egypt.

Last season, after coaching reshuffles at the club, Mokwena was made sole head coach, with Komphela as the first assistant coach and Mngqithi as the second assistant.

“Mamelodi Sundowns today expressed its best wishes to Steve Komphela on his appointment as the Head Coach of Swallows FC.” The club announced.

Chairman also thanked the coach for his service and wished him well for the future.

“Steve Komphela served Mamelodi Sundowns with loyalty and devotion and will always be a member of the Mamelodi Sundowns Family. We wish him everything of the best.”

At Swallows, Komphela will return to first team coaching. He will be assisted by former midfielder Musa Nyatama, who was interim coach for the second half of last season.
