Mamelodi Sundowns Confirm Kermit Erasmus From Cape Town City! Erasmus had been linked with a move to the Chloorkop based outfit for a number of weeks now. His announcement was apparently delayed by his call up to the national squad. Erasmus becomes the 11th confirmed signing by Mamelodi Sundowns this transfer window.
According to KickOff, Kermit Erasmus agreed terms to sign with Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday. Apparently the striker had already bid farewell to his teammates and family in the Western Cape, ahead of his departure from Cape Town City.
The striker joins the likes of Peter Shalulile and Gift Motupa as new forward players at the reigning champions.
“Kermit will be confirmed by Sundowns any moment now, he had a farewell party on Friday with his close friends and family and will be leaving Cape Town,” a source close to the deal reveals.” A source close to KickOff revealed.
“Sundowns is a team you can’t refuse and the long-term contract offered was definitely a big factor besides the chance of winning trophies. I think Benni’s exit also had a part in his decision to look for a new challenge, he was his hero.”
Erasmus scored 14 goals for Cape Town City last season. Sundowns had initially shown interest in Romeo whilst Pitso Mosimane was still at the helm. His departure to Al Ahly hasn’t disrupted The Brazilians’ interest in him.
New Sundowns head coaches Manqoba Mngqithi and Rulani Mokwena will welcome this summer signing. The co-managers have been given all the resources they need to assume a successful tenure as Mamelodi Sundowns confirm Kermit Erasmus from Cape Town City!
