This latest victory saw Sundowns hit 57 goals for the season, the highest tally in a single campaign since the Premier Soccer League was trimmed to 16 teams in the 2002/03 season. In 2019/20, Baroka FC, Cape Town City, and Pirates all escaped defeat. Even in 2018/19, AmaZulu survived the Sundowns onslaught, while the 2017/18 title came without a win over Kaizer Chiefs.
This year, however, Miguel Cardoso’s side left no stone unturned.
