Mamelodi Sundowns’ Malibongwe Khoza Attracts Interest from Ligue 1 Side Stade Rennes

Mamelodi Sundowns defender Malibongwe Khoza has been catching the attention of European clubs with his outstanding performances in the Betway Premiership. Now, sources close to the player have revealed that French Ligue 1 club Stade Rennes is seriously interested in signing the 21-year-old.
European Scouts Monitoring Khoza
According to Soccer Laduma, Rennes representatives and scouts have been tracking Khoza’s progress, closely watching his performances for the PSL leaders. The young defender’s consistency and talent have impressed the French club, which is now eager to assess him further.
“Rennes FC representatives and scouts have been monitoring Mali’s (Khoza’s) progress as they have watched most of his games and they are happy with him. It’s believed that they want to assess him in their own environment and see what he can do. Though they are happy with the potential they have seen in him,” a source revealed to the Siya crew.
Possible Move After FIFA Club World Cup
A second insider indicated that if Khoza were to travel to France, it would likely happen at the end of the season after Sundowns’ participation in the FIFA Club World Cup in the USA, which is set to conclude in July.
“The club won’t stand in the way of the player if that chance comes, but the only thing is that they would request that he can go for an assessment in July after the FIFA Club World Cup. But yes, the interest is there and it’s promising as long as he can go there and prove that he can do it,” the source added.
Rising Star at Sundowns
Since his promotion to the first team, Khoza has become an integral part of Sundowns’ defensive setup, gaining valuable experience in domestic and continental competitions. With European interest mounting, a move to France could be the next big step in his promising career.
For now, Khoza remains focused on helping Mamelodi Sundowns maintain their dominance in the PSL while keeping an eye on a potential European opportunity.
