Mamelodi Sundowns Trio Thankful For Individual Recognition! The Brazilians were given reason to fee celebratory yesterday.

Rulani Mokwena, Manqoba Mngqithi and Peter Shalulile all received individual acclaim yesterday. Thus, they were thankful to Mamelodi Sundowns for the platform offered to them.

Coaches Rulani and Manqoba were awarded with the PSL Coach of the Month for August/September. Striker Peter Shalulile won the PSL Player of the Month for August/September.

Masandawana currently top the league table after six league matches played. They have won five and drawn one of these matches.

Thus, they sit with 16 points from a possible 18.

Incredibly, they have not conceded a single goal all season. Dennis Onyango has already amassed six clean sheets this season.

“Congratulations to Mamelodi Sundowns in its entirety, the football club which we represent.” Coach Rulani Mokwena said to the media in attendance.

“Congratulations to my colleague Coach Manqoba also on winning the award and congratulations to the rest of the technical staff who have made an immense contribution to the good results so far.”

At the beginning of the campaign, Mokwena confirmed that himself and Coach Manqoba Mngqithi had been at odds. Whatever was going on has now been squashed and there is harmony in the squad.

“The truth of the matter is that this is a collective effort, we are just the recipients. Without everyone that surrounds us.

“A club like Mamelodi Sundowns ticks because of a group of people working towards one goal which is to win – to win every training session, every friendly match, and to win every match.” He said.

Striker Peter Shalulile also commented on the award.

“I am still the same Peter that gives 150% at training, doing extra work and listening more to the coaches. My target for this season is to end everything on a high note with the team, to do good and hopefully score more goals like I did in the previous season.” He said.
