Manchester City thumped Sporting Lisbon 5-0 in their UEFA Champions League comeback last night. The English champions are still on a quest to become champions of Europe.
It was goals galore in Lisbon last night as the Premier League giants all but secured their spot in the last eight of the competition. This is unless the Portuguese giants pull off one of the greatest comebacks in European history.
“We are happy that we managed to take the chances we created.” Manchester City captain Ruben Dias said to UEFA.com.
“We scored two or three goals early and the game changed. But we cannot feel that it has become easy.
“The goals brought a calmness, but Sporting showed that they have a lot of quality.
“We expected a difficult game and that’s what we got. The result is very positive for us, but it doesn’t take away the difficulty that Sporting made us feel.
“It’s not easy to play against Sporting, there are still 90 minutes to play, and our concentration has to be the same.” The captain spoke.
