Orlando Pirates will play against AmaZulu FC in the DSTV Premiership tonight. Assistant coach Mandla Ncikazi has claimed that he thinks they will score goals in the encounter.
The Buccaneers have failed to find the back of the net since club football resumed this October, after the FIFA break. They drew 0-0 at home to Mamelodi Sundowns in the MTN 8.
This was followed by a disappointing 2-0 loss away to Sekhukhune United and then they drew 0-0 at home to Richards Bay FC last week Saturday. They’re attacking prowess has come under great scrutiny for the lack of goals.
“Preparations are going well,” Ncikazi told the club media.
“We know where we are, we know where we want to get to. Players look ready.
“We’re ready to get the [three] points and fight for more points. It’s a difficult opponent [AmaZulu FC], we’re not sure about AmaZulu especially after they have changed their leadership.
“But we don’t have to focus on the opponents, we have to focus on ourselves. We know our challenges.
“It’s just about working on the final third, scoring goals and I think we’ll score goals tomorrow [today, 14 October 2022].” He concluded.
Head coach José Riveiro has since said they’re lacking the match fitness of Thembinkosi Lorch, Kermit Erasmus and Evidence Makgopa up front. Mandla Ncikazi Confident of Scoring Goals Against AmaZulu FC!
