Mandla Ncikazi Proud of Orlando Pirates Players After Win! The Buccaneers got the better of their minnow opponents.

Orlando Pirates defeated All Stars 2-0 in the Nedbank Cup on Saturday night. Assistant coach Mandla Ncikazi spoke about his happiness with the performance of the players.

The Buccaneers scored two second half goals through man of the match Monnapule Saleng and the returning Thembinkosi Lorch, from a long-term injury. They have progressed into the next stage of the competition.

“I thought it was just important for us to go to the next round. The field conditions were also not suitable for us to play the type of game that we wanted to play.” Mandla Ncikazi told SuperSport TV.  

“I’m just excited that with the struggle that we had in the first half, we could second half score. We want to play the game, we want to play on the ground, but like I said, conditions were not very suitable, maybe this explained the struggle.

“I’m just happy that we’re in the next round.” He added.

There were torrential rains in Johannesburg on Saturday, resulting in quite a soggy pitch.

“That was my biggest worry, more than the opponents I was worried about the weather conditions when it was raining like it was raining. But I’m just excited that the players adapted, the players could suite to the conditions, and we could score two goals.
