Orlando Pirates beat JS Saoura of Algeria 2-0 in the CAF Confederations Cup this weekend. Co-Coach Mandla Ncikazi was proud of the result that sealed qualification.
Ntsikelelo Nyauza and Kabelo Dlamini were both on target as The Buccaneers sealed passage into the knockout stages of the tournament.
The CAF Confederations Cup still poses as the best opportunity for The Ghost to claim any silverware this season. Especially after bowing out of the Nedbank Cup and being 16 points behind Mamelodi Sundowns in the DSTV Premiership.
“I’m happy for our boys against a very good team,” Ncikazi said post-match.
“They’re a very good team, but I thought we played well and imposed ourselves well where they were a bit unlucky with injuries.
“I think they’re a good team and that they will still qualify for the knockout stages as we’ll select a strong side for our final group game and play to win.”
“We’re going to play to win against Al Ittihad as we’re a professional side who always wants to win and we’re going to select a strong team.” He confirmed.
