Mandla Ncikazi Will Not Blame Players After Another Goalless Draw! The Buccaneers played out to a stalemate last night.
Orlando Pirates drew 0-0 at home to Cape Town City in the DSTV Premiership. Co-coach Mandla Ncikazi was proud of what he saw from his team on the night.
The hosts created a flurry of chances but failed to go past in-from goalkeeper Hugo. They are now fourth on the league table, after playing out to their 11th draw of the season.
“Take the chances first half, for the amount of dominance that I thought we had in the first half. Take the dominance and turn that into goals,” Ncikazi told SuperSport TV after the match.
“We’re playing well and not taking the chances that we created. It’s not going to give us results.
“I can’t fault the players for their efforts. And second half, while we played well, I could see the tired legs.
“We just played two days ago. Which is why you could maybe see so many changes.
“We could not play as well as we did in the first half, but I still thought we had enough chances to win the match. Even second half for a dominance like that, that has no result you will always be disappointed.
“Not disappointed with the players and their performance, just the result that could not go our way
“Credit to [Eric] Tinkler. I thought he changed the systems first half three times, in trying to stop what we were doing.
“But I still think, even with the changes he made, we still had the opportunities to score. Maybe it shouldn’t go to the right or left, for the amount of saves that the goalkeeper made.
“But it’s not always easy playing against a block. I think their tactics in making a block worked for them.
“But I still think we should have won the match.” He insisted.
The Bucs will now prepare for the Soweto Derby on Saturday afternoon. Mandla Ncikazi Will Not Blame Players After Another Goalless Draw!
