Both teams have started off the season relatively well. Sundowns are predictably on top of the table after only 4 matches played.
They have started the season in the same manner they finished the previous campaign. Mngqithi is prioritising the number of points they need to collect in this 5-match cycle.
“We’ve emphasised on taking care of the process, and the process is the number of points we want to achieve in each cycle,” Mngqithi said to the media ahead of the game.
“Whoever happens to become an opponent in that space, we focus on that so that we achieve our desired targets and get the points we’re looking for.
“Pirates is that team that must give us that points that can help us to achieve our ultimate target.
“So, the issue of anxiety, we have tried to clear that by focusing more on the process and making sure that everybody understands three points is the same, be it Pirates, Baroka or TS Galaxy.”
Masandawana has a good recent history against Pirates. They defeated The Ghost three times last season.
This included 4-1 and 3-0 routs.
“We can’t start to doubt. Of course, a game like Pirates will always have elements of pressure, intrinsic motivation and that is most likely to bring an element of anxiety, we have to control that space.
“Fortunately, a number of players that we’re using are players used to playing under the pressure for a team like Sundowns” the coach stated.
Kick-off for the game is 15h00 on Saturday afternoon. Manqoba Mngqithi Hopeful of All Three Points Against Orlando Pirates!
