Manqoba Mngqithi Pleased With Professionalism Of His Players! The Brazilians wrapped up the league title with a win in the Tshwane Derby.

Mamelodi Sundowns defeated SuperSport United 3-1 in the DSTV Premiership last night. Head coach Manqoba Mngqithi was pleased that his players maintained their professionalism despite the visitors going a man down early in the game.

Guily Manziba severly cost his team after being red carded within the first 10 minutes. They were under the cosh for the remainder of the game.

“The game was made to be easier which was worrying me because when there is a red card so early you start making mistakes or thinking the game is easy but I was happy with the level of professionalism with a lot of good counter pressing and never really giving them time on the ball,” the Mngqithi told SuperSport TV.

“Very good attitude. Normally players don’t play that game.

“Today the boys showed their pedigree, quality. They could have even done better to be honest.

“We did not score as many goals as I thought we could. Because we created a lot of good opportunities.

“We even missed a penalty.

“It’s normal when players have had a very good first half you try your level best to pep them up at half-time to make sure they still inject the same energy. Which is why we made a lot of substitutions in the second half to bring other people who are a little hungry to try and make their own name.

“Second half was a little bit scrappy. We were not in total control of the game.

“We never really exerted ourselves. When we had possession we wanted to penetrate instead of trying our level best not to lose possession because when the game goes into transitions and we are leading, you are opening yourself up to counterattacks.

“I believe the referee made a big mistake for their goal as the ball was ours at the throw-in. Those mistakes do happen in the game.

“Otherwise he did run the game very well.” He said. Manqoba Mngqithi Pleased With Professionalism Of His Players!
