The KZN outfit have suffered the poorest start to the new PSL season. They have lost all their games since the season begun.

Maritzburg United Sack Coach Eric Tinkler After 5 Consecutive Defeats! The club are yet to make the announcement themselves.

A source close to KickOff has said on good authority that the two parties have agreed to go their separate ways.

“Eric Tinkler is no longer coach at Maritzburg United. The club will make an announcement soon” the source told KickOff.

Some may view this sacking as quite harsh when considering the work that Tinkler has done at the club.

He helped the club stave off relegation at the end of the 2018/2019 season when he arrived in Pietermaritzburg. He then guided the team to an impressive top 8 finish last season.

This season they have lost all four league games and the MTN 8 fixture against a depleted Kaizer Chiefs.

The 1-0 loss to Black Leopards over the weekend seemed to be the last hurdle for Farook Kadodia.

“This was a massively disappointing loss. Obviously, I feel for the players because I do not think we deserved it,” Tinkler said after the match.

“We dominated and dictated play, practically the whole match.

“We just didn’t take the opportunities we created, and one mistake led to a goal, but you know that’s been the story of the season so far,”

“Moving forward, the morale, the confidence, we have got to look to try and build it.
